LILY POND

This lead water feature has a circumference of sixteen feet. It is in fact a large free-form lead planter. Each of the two foot long lead panels have been sand-cast from a wooden pattern, with water lily leaves and ripples carved in bas-relief. After the panels have been welded together and fettled, a lead bottom has been welded in. The lily leaves have again been cast from wooden patterns, these compliment the flowers. The lilies have water bobbling up from holes drilled through the top of the hand-blown lead crystal balls, that form the centre of the flowers. Both leaves and flowers are maintained at the water surface by a stainless steel armature that sits below the surface. Water is pumped to the lead and glass flowers from a fitted submersible pump via small copper pipes. This foundry-cast lead lead and glass water feature has been traditionally handmade in England by Heritage Lead Planters.
