IVY ROUND LEAD PLANTER

Our exclusive ivy design allows the perfectly repeating pattern of leaves and vines to flow around this delightful planter with carefree abandon, even ‘breaking the frame’ and peeking over the mouldings. As a symbol of loyalty and fidelity, ivy has been used as a decorative ornamentation for centuries and quite often given to newlyweds to express devotion to one another and the idea that they could not be separated. Once settled in your garden you will love the relaxed, easy-going nature of this solid lead planter.

HAWTHORN GREEN MAN LEAD PLANTER

This lead planter is our smaller version of the Hawthorn Green Man. This foundry-cast lead planter has all four sides showing the face of the Green man surrounded by hawthorn leaves and berries, and even a finch nestled into his leafy beard. The ecclesiastical Green Man has many interpretations, as a warning not to allow nature to overcome oneself, as a reminder that one day we shall be laid in the ground and life shall grow from our remains. However, as a symbol of nature and regeneration he is a fitting motif for a solid lead planter where your plants can grow and thrive year after year.

MEDICEAN ROUND LEAD PLANTER

Our Medicean Round Lead Planter references a fragment of Roman pilaster housed at the Villa Medici, Rome. There are several of these fragments displayed in Rome and Florence, but their origins are unknown. However, from their size and craftsmanship they are thought to be part of a temple or honorific arch. A ‘felicitas temporum’ dating from the first century now repeats seamlessly around this foundry-cast lead planter that will still look as good many centuries from now.

MEDICEAN TROUGH LEAD PLANTER

The highly stylized spirals of acanthus of our Medicean Trough Lead Planter take direct inspiration from a fragment of Roman pilaster displayed at the Villa Medici, Rome, a cast of which is kept at the Royal Academy in London. As patron to the arts and collector, Ferdinando de Medici bought this fragment in 1584 and its graceful curves have appeared in documentation of ornamentation ever since. Its latest incarnation is as a perfectly repeating pattern around our beautiful foundry-cast lead planter.

CORNUCOPIA LARGE ROUND LEAD PLANTER

When creating either a lead planter or window box in our Cornucopia range, our craftsmen are delighted when they release the cast panels from the sand moulds to reveal this truly stunning design, and rightly so. It takes a great deal of skill and patience to perfect the quality of detail shown here in the continuous garland of cornucopia, fruit and flowers – not only within the embellishment wrapping around the centre of this Cornucopia Large Round Lead Planter, but around the top and bottom mouldings, too. This foundry-cast solid lead garden planter has been traditionally handmade in England by Heritage Lead Planters.

GRAPEVINE LEAD CISTERN (Second pattern)

In this Grapevine solid lead cistern, which is the second reincarnation of our grapevine design, the intricate detailing of veins on the leaves; the fine tendrils entwined around the strapwork trellis or sending out long shoots searching for somewhere to take a hold; the strength of the thickened vine base acting as an anchor, and the fullness of the ripened bunches of grapes is once again exemplified here on this foundry-cast lead cistern. Embellished on all sides, our Grapevine Lead Cistern looks stunning from any angle. This beautiful solid lead cistern has been traditionally handmade in England by Heritage Lead Planters.

ARTS & CRAFTS LEAD PLANTER

Our Arts & Crafts inspired solid lead planter exhibits all the traits and ethos of the English Arts & Crafts Movement as exemplified by the designs of artists such as William Morris. This square tapered lead planter has been decorated with hand-sculpted dog roses on each of the four faces. The upward flare of the planter gives it an unusual elegance, which allows the planted surface to be much larger than the base, allowing for enormous versatility in the number and variety of plants it can accommodate. This finely crafted planter has been traditionally handmade in England by Heritage Lead Planters.

ROSES & RANUNCULUS LEAD WINDOW BOX

Our Roses and Ranunculus Lead Window box, with its deeply carved flowers in full bloom is sure to become a favorite. Full bodied and heavy, the central floral motif is elaborate and full of life, yet being double ended keeps it subtle and refined. The flowers are repeated on both sides of this solid lead planter, so it can stand on a low wall to show off both aspects, or be positioned with a trellis for climbers. Ranunculus flowers mean charm and affection and we think this lovely planter has both.

FLOWER BASKET SQUARE LEAD PLANTER

Looking not dissimilar to a heraldic crest from a distance, a varied profusion of highly detailed flowers and leaves crowd a sturdy basket on all four panels of our Flower Basket Square Lead Planter. The bouquet is handled with a lively, freshness that belies the density of the solid lead, while the basket, ironically often made from brass repoussé, offers a regulated, constructed counterpoint to the floral elements. We are sure you will love this handmade planter, wherever you choose to site it in your garden.

BROMSGROVE 2 LEAD WINDOW BOX

Here is another beautifully decorated window box in our Bromsgrove range. The seamless relief of dog roses, leaves and sinuous vines stand so proud and lifelike that you could be forgiven for thinking that a fresh garland of these wild roses had been draped around the planter and suspended in time by a thin film of molten lead. Planted up with your favourite blooms, the Bromsgrove 2 Lead Window Box will attract the attention of all visitors, be they friends, family or pollinators. This foundry-cast solid lead planter has been traditionally handmade in England by Heritage Lead Planters.
